This is an old IQ question, that I received sometime back ago.
4 criminals are caught and are to be punished. The Judge allows them to be freed if they can solve a puzzle. If they do not, they will be hung. They agreed.
The 4 criminals are lined up on some steps (shown in picture). They are all facing in the same direction. A wall separates the fourth man from the other three.
So, to summarise:-
Man 1 can see men 2 and 3.
Man 2 can see man 3.
Man 3 can see none of the others.
Man 4 can see none of the others.
The criminals are wearing hats. They are told that there are two white hats and two black hats. The men initially do not know what colour hat they are wearing. They are told to shout out the colour of the hat that they are wearing as soon as they know for certain what colour it is.
They are not allowed to turn round or move.
They are not allowed to talk to each other.
They are not allowed to take their hats off.
Who is the first person to shout out and why?
PS: There is no trick to the question, just logical deduction.
Ans: Scroll down.
Yeah yeah, I know scrolling for answers sucks!
Just a bit more to go...
The solution to the puzzle
The man who calls out is Number 2.
After a short time, Number 1 has not shouted out what colour hat he is wearing. Because of this, Number 2 knows that he cannot be wearing the same colour hat as the person in front of him. If he was, then Number 1 would see two black hats and would therefore know that his hat must be white.
Armed with the knowledge that:-
He isn't wearing the same colour hat as the man in front.
The man in front is wearing a black hat.
Number 2 can confidently shout out that the hat he is wearing is white. Easy wasn't it!

I rarely write about food, so here is one of those rare posting. We went to Puchong today because Shirley needed to go to the bank. After that we decided to head over to Bumbu Bali after reading about it on eatinout. Bumbu Bali sell Balinese Fusion food. Beside food, they also sell some home decor. I am not sure whether those decor are truly from Bali or not but they are not cheap.
Anyway, here are the food that we ordered.

The Cost of Static from The Daily WTF is an example of the hidden cost behind off-shoring. The initial cost to off shore maybe cheap, but you get what you paid for. Most likely its off shored to the X-Men. It seems like management level, no matter from where, are all fools and they never learn. They really dig the X-Men.

Seems like this is all the rage right now. A bottle cap tripod which will easily turn any bottle into an instant tripod. You can buy one now at a Yahoo! store here for around USD20 and there are 5 different colours to choose from. I think its a pretty useful piece of gadget.
If you think that USD20 is a bit too expensive for something like this, here is an alternative on eBay. Now I like to know which idiot will actually buy something like that!
Update(25/3/2006) : I don't know what to say. Somebody actually bid on the eBay bottle cap tripod. Either that person is an idiot or the seller paid the bidder to pull some cheap publicity for himself. These people really have too much time.... and fun... I have to give them credit for contributing lots of pageload to my blog.

The other day MF was asking is there an easier way to post mulitple pictures from Flickr when blogging, other then using the IMG tag and pointing it to the right URL. Well, it seems there is, if you are using Firefox. I am not sure whether this will work with the other browsers or not. So go get yourself a copy of Firefox now.
Here is what you do. Open two browser windows side by side, one to blogger and the other to Flickr. When you want to add an image to your post, just go to the Flickr window then choose the correct picture and size, and drag and drop the picture to the blogger compose textarea. That's it.

Lately, I seen two advertisement on TV from HSBC on a contest that they are running. I don't know how the ads were made, whether the entire thing was scripted or they just simply get someone on the street to answer this what if question. If its the latter, then there really are a lot of idiots on the street.
Idiot one is a guy who said that if he had a million bucks he will build a big pool and get himself two dolphins. What?! I don't think a million bucks is enough for that dream. He will probably be broke after he builds the pool and get the dolphins. Then what? Let the dolphins die of hunger? Poor dolphins.
Idiot two is an auntie who said that if she had a million bucks she will make herself beautiful and slim. Now that is a reasonable dream and honestly she really need it. But that is not all, after she is beautiful and all, she like to have a dinner date with Andy Lau. What?!? Is that how you blow your million bucks away?
Perhaps the standard answers are too dull and they wanted idiotic answers. So here is my idiotic answer. If I got a million bucks, I will use this million bucks to win the contest and get that million bucks for real!

Yesterday I posted about LunchBox. Today, I like to show what we usually eat. The awful mixed rice. The rice is usually very coarse, and sometimes its cold. Since the petrol hike this is what we have to endured, as going out to eat is a luxury.
Found this video on Google about Nintendo Revolution controller.

Since there are lots of blogs out there talking about food, I think I'll write something about food also. Today's lunch is at LunchBox, a recently open eatery inside Technology Park Malaysia(TPM). Since there are not much of a choice to choose from in the first place inside TPM, this is something different.
This is what I ordered. A turkey ham pita. Taste is just ok but, again, considering the kind of food you can get in TPM, this is great! Relatively speaking.

Heaven is the theme song for Shinobi: Heart Under Blade. Its been a while since Ayumi got such a nice song. I just can't get enough of it.
If you haven't heard it, try it now.
If you haven't watch the movie yet, then what are you waiting for?
Update: youtube has removed the video.
