Statistics and Pop-up ads

Recently eatinout was complaining that my blog has pop-up ad. I was dumbfounded as I am very sure I didn't place any sort of pop-up ads on my blog. So I try loading the page to see the pop-up for myself but there was no pop-up of anysort. It seems that the pop-up will only show once a day. Since I already loaded my blog page a few times, it will not appear again. So tried using another browser and there it was. A yellow bar showing the pop-up ad being block by the browser. After some investigation, the culprit for the pop-up ad is actually from a free site counter that I've been using since the beginning when I created this blog. I believe they only started serving pop-up ad recently as I am sure there wasn't any last time. Business must be really bad for them until they have to resort to this kind of tactics. Since I had two site counters tracking the traffics to my blog, the bad counter serving annoying pop-up will have to go.

3D Papercraft : Emperor Penguin

After completing my first 3D Papercraft, I wanted to try to make another one. So this time I chose an Emperor Penguin from Canon again. At first, I thought this one would be a lot tougher since there are many more pieces to cut out and glue together but it turn out that it is actually a lot less tedious. This is because the pieces are bigger and simpler to cut out. The emperor penguin took me roughly two hours to complete. Below are some pictures of the finished penguin.

3D Papercraft : Leaning Tower of Pisa

Wanted to try making one of those 3D Papercraft. There are quite a number of sites offering free download of these 3D models. Canon and Yamaha are two examples. So I downloaded the Leaning Tower of Pisa kit from the Canon site, since it seems like the easiest to build. Printed it out from a PDF file and started building it. It took me slightly more than an hour to complete it and it is not as easy as I thought. Cutting out the pieces is a painstakingly slow task. If a simple one like this is so daunting, I can't imagine how I can try the more complicated model.

Here are some pictures of the completed model.

Temple visit

On Wesak day, Buddhists will visit Buddhist temples, however, I visited one on the weekend instead. I believe its a branch temple of Fo Guang Shan. This temple is located somewhere in Jenjarom, Kuala Langat.

The Entrance

Lots of open space

This building houses the Relics. No pictures of the Relic as it is off-limits to cameras.

A big bell. Too bad, not allowed strike it.

There is a garden in the temple with a Lily pond and lots of orchids

A school of Kois

Yellow Orchids

Purple

Red

Where are the people? This is post Wesak day, so everybody have visited. There are still quite a number of people there to see the Relic.
